In Scotland there is currently no bursary for Paramedic Science Students. We are expected to complete 2,250 clinical hours unpaid throughout the course.

Student Nurses and Midwifes in Scotland are entitled to £10,000 bursary per annum. Why are Paramedic Student’s not entitled to anything? 

PM Boris Johnson granted £5,000 bursary for Paramedic Students and all other Allied Health Professional Students in all of English University’s commencing this year September 2020. 

I have over 10 years service working for the NHS. It is not feasible to continue to work full time and study a full time Bachelor or Science Degree Course, especially when completing so many placement hours unpaid.

If you would be kind enough to take a few minutes to complete my petition I would be entirely grateful. I hope that Nicola Sturgeon will look to implement a bursary for Paramedic Science Students. 

I am aiming to achieve 100,000 signatures.
