Ask Nicola Sturgeon to keep Renfrewshire CAB operating.

In this time of Tory austerity, the services that CAB offer to people are vitally important. The Paisley, Renfrewshire branch has supported its service users in dealing with 3.5 million pounds worth of debt, and prevented thousands of homes from being repossessed. They offer Welfare rights advice, debt advice, amongst many other important services. The SNP have spent millions of pounds in mitigating Tory policies, but despite their valiant efforts, even they can’t fully protect people from the difficulties that the Tory austerity cause. 19 of the local SNP councillors voted against giving the CAB £115,000 to allow them to keep operating, but then budgeted £300,000 for prevention of dog waste on the pavements!! Whilst the poo is annoying, it’s not likely to result in the loss of homes, or even debt related suicide but losing such an active branch of CAB will. Nicola Sturgeon, please intervene and put a stop to this madness. We need CAB more than ever just now, and we know you are well aware of that.
