Good morning. To whom it may concern. My name is Craig Graham and I would like to speak to you on the matter of the period of time that the state goes back on your driving record. I want to start off by saying everyone makes mistakes in their life and most of us learn from it and move on a lot of us don’t. There are many different scenarios why people do the things they do. It’s all about the why question?? Majority of the people have made their mistakes when we were younger and society these days judge you on your past no matter how long ago it was or what it was. I believe the state of Illinois is doing exactly that. There is a law in Illinois that goes back a lifetime on your driving record. The law use to be 10 years. I’m 52 years old and I am being punished for something I did when I was a teenager and I’m sure I am not the only one in this state that this law has effected like this. I don’t think it’s right to the people for the state to do this. I want make a change in this law so people like me ;law abiding ,work everyday, pay my taxes citizen of this state and not be criticized or judged for something I did 34 years ago. The society these days is tough enough to live in. In ending I would like to say let’s come together on this matter and change this law back to the way it was and give some of us back our dignity and PRIDE.
