Though Pokemon Go has lost some popularity recently, I have discovered that there is an active Pokemon stop at my grandmother's grave in Sachse, Texas at Sachse Cemetery. (Sachse, Dallas County, Texas, 75048 ) Anyone who has the app can basically "play" a game on top of my grandmother's grave. Also, the picture of her tombstone is shown when you click the Pokestop. Users who go to Pokestops can receive more experience levels and benefits when playing the game. Since when did we lose respect for those who have passed, and allowed people to view their gravesite as a fun place to play on? When the game was more popular (around 2016-2017) my mother informed me that there were numerous children (and their parents) running around Sachse cemetery playing the game and completely disregarding the fact that they were being extremely disrespectful. My mother was devastated, as she (and my whole family) go to this cemetery to mourn the loss of our beloved relatives. My mother has lost both of her parents, and she has to be subjected to the pain of knowing that people can literally run on her mother's gravesite with out even stopping to think of the emotional trauma caused by their reckless actions. My uncle has tried to get these stops removed (currently there are two grave sites marked as Pokestops at Sachse Cemetery) but Niantic's response was that there is not enough "sufficient evidence" for the stops to be removed. The fact that a company completely disregards the fact that its app has location markers and pictures of grave sites is mind blowing and disgusting. I want to get these Pokestops removed for not only my mother, but anyone else effected emotionally by this complete disrespect towards departed relatives.
