I think that Niantic is being deceitful, and this is all about money. I've lived in my apartment for about 7 years now. I was here when Pokemon Go launched. There's a pokestop next door to me. I've always been able to interact with it from inside my apartment. Now I can't. I visited a gym at a local park, and I pretty much had to go inside the facility where the GPS coordinates of the stop is. Not a few feet away where I could sit down on the curb, but right in the middle. 10 feet from the curb, and 10 feet from the entrance. This is crazy. I understand the point of the game is to move around, and I'm for that. This has nothing to do with the quality of the game, and everything about forcing players to spend money on pokeballs.

Here's what they're saying on Reddit in regards to running out of pokeballs: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/pagbwh/usa_players_do_you_receive_enough_pok%C3%A9_balls/?utm_term=1529212481&utm_medium=post_embed&utm_source=embed&utm_name=&utm_content=header

With this reduction, when I walk down the street, to get to school, I now have to zigzag back and forth at every intersection crosswalk. First and foremost, the street is quite busy. Now, if I want to spin every stop, my travel time is nearly doubled, because I have to wait for traffic, to cross. With this reduction Niantic is essentially claiming that they are helping to make me more active. When, in fact, they are simply slowing down my progress and making my walk potentially more dangerous.
Also, before Niantic extended the interaction distance, there was a pokestop, I was never able to spin due to it being located in a fenced-off area. I have been spinning it for nearly a year, but now can no longer access it. It seems to me that it is Niantic will allow a stop to be placed in such inaccessible locations that the distance should remain expanded.

You broke your word and the game. This change makes the game significantly less safe to boot. Also, THE PANDEMIC IS NOT OVER. Stop acting like it is!

- Niantic, hear me: I've been playing Pokémon Go since late July 2016, and it's absolutely heart-breaking that it has become so much harder to get enjoyment out of and be safe while doing so. Since the reversion, I can no longer get in range easily and from a safe distance and have been thrust back uncomfortably close or onto private property, down one-way streets, into busy intersections, or into highly congested areas. I've missed raids or couldn't interact due to the gym/stop being inaccessible, so the app got closed. You should really get rid of your hypocritical "no trespassing" message, because you're forcing us to do it by getting so close to these real-world places. The game is so much more stressful again, having to be on the lookout for residents, church attendants, police, people in general during a surging pandemic, vehicular traffic, and try not to get reprimanded, hit by a car, infected, arrested, attacked, robbed, or kidnapped. The safety and well-being of players should never even be considered to be locked behind a paywall. The game will be free-to-play for me and others like me until you actually care for players and the non-players who deal with us. Taking away quality-of-life improvements, like the doubled interaction distance, isn't beneficial for anyone, even you. For crying out loud, children and people with disabilities like to play your game, so do better, for all of us.
- As for Sword Slash and everyone who signed and/or cares about this issue, thank you. No matter what happens, I greatly appreciate the good you're all doing.

I'm signing because this made it super convenient when dealing with crowds and the not so accessible pokestops as well as being able to access gyms for raids with max groups without having to be so closely bunched together.

Covid is STILL A SERIOUS ISSUE. And this was better for more than just that, but mainly because screw human interaction!

The increased distance keeps POGO trainers safer! Is there ANY reason odd important than that? Even if Covid wasn’t a thing to be concerned with (it IS) the increase in distance keeps individual trainers MUCH safer!! If Niantic chooses to continue with reverting back to prior distances, I will most cerchoose to find a new hobby to throw money into! It won’t be a Niantic game, that’s for sure! That would be sad since I am almost to hit level 43 and have played since day one!

I'm disabled and the pokestops with the greater distance allows me to play the game more like able bodied people. Since the distance has been shortened, it has made the game less pleasurable and more difficult for me.
