Our high school in Narragansett is changing the start time to align with our neighboring middle school for the 2021-2022 school year. This came with no advisement or vote from our students and or teachers but by a pool of parents (a number unbeknownst to us). Many students and teachers would rather begin school at our normal 7:30 am start time as we get released at 1:52 pm. This six hour and 20 or so minutes is the norm for all of us at this point and has been this way for years on end. However, next year they are changing the schedule from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm which extends our total school time. This change will interfere with the peoples' everyday schedule as well as extracurricular and sporting schedules as well. This petition will be used as the voice for the student body who were not heard when this decision was made. Feel free to vote if you are a parent, guardian or an official of the school who does not feel this change was necessary.
