Lauren Cunningham started this petition to NHS

After spending weeks in hospital visiting my dad who has undergone major surgery to remove his lung cancer, it occurred to me how much it costs to visit him and that not everyone, including myself can afford up to £10 a day, £70 a week, £280 a month...

The vast majority of car parks are privately owned. Studies show that it costs each family member an average of £53.47 a week per member, so on an average of 3 members per patient, is approximately £600 a month. If we’re estimating 500,000 beds across the UK x 52 weeks, it’s 300000000!! Some of the car parks are owned by the Bank of Japan, who do not need money of worried relatives of ill patients. ONLY £174m was returned to the NHS in 2017 and the rest returned to the pockets of the super rich.

I believe the car parks should be owned solely by the NHS and all profits returned. Please support this campaign to change the way the NHS car parks operate and support our outstanding health service.
