Hi my name is Briony and I have children with special educational needs who have been refused urgent medical treatment due to the lack of knowledge about special educational needs both at the doctors where they will not assess her due to behaviours and when requiring an ambulance for a severe asthma attack we had to wait 2 hours before they would let her in,she was 5. I also had a conversation with a lovely woman who has autism and she told me about the lack of compassion by doctors at the hospital and being threatened with security because her anxiety had taken over and they couldn’t understand her meltdown even though she told them she had autism. This is not acceptableand that’s why all NHS service providers dentists,opticians,doctors and hospitals should have staff that are fully trained in children and adults with special needs so that no disabled person is ever made to feel less again or left medically untreated which could lead to something more serious, health care in the UK should be easily accessible for all
