A response to my concerns
A response to my concerns
Why this petition matters

My name is Jim Sharpe, 74 years old, diabetic and I am completely blind in one eye and less than 30% vision in the other eye. I firmly believe that my sightloss is due to the unauthorised experimental eye surgery carried out by staff at the Leicester Royal Infirmary's Windsor Eye Clinic between 2005-2009.
I want to petition the NHS England Complaints Committee to appoint an independent Committee to investigate why these experts were allowed to use me as a guinea pig then callously cast me aside.
This is my story. As a diabetic, I underwent the usual eye test when I first registered with the LRI. I had been living a normal life until then, driving to work and back , drive testing the busses that I worked on etc. However, the eye specialist, Mr Bannerjee informed me that he had detected a serious problem at the backs of both eyes that required urgent laser eye surgery to rectify. Even though I had no problem with my sight , I trusted the experts and agreed to take the treatment. And thats what things started going downhill. Laser eye surgery, random and multiple 5 minute shots into each eye, resulted in distorted vision caused by pulled nerves, which then required open eye surgery and further open eye surgery. At one stage one eye was filled with oil and the other with silicone. By this time I couldn't drive to work or carry out the tasks required to do my job so I was laid off for incompetence. Imagine the pain I felt, then multiply that ×10. When I started demanding answers, my hospital file suddenly and inexplicably went missing
They surfaced 3 months later, having lost at least 50,% of bulk. Why ??
I'm 74, not in the best of health and I want answers before I die. I would like the NHS to provide me with a suitably adapted home for self and carer to help me live out the rest of my days, with my broken dreams, in peace and safety.
I humbly ask for your support, thank you.
