Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome is a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system that primarily affects ones heart rate and blood pressure. Upon standing, an affected persons heart rate raises minimum 30bpm higher than when lying, and in some cases their blood pressure drops to an unhealthy number. This causes a variety of debilitating symptoms including extreme exhaustion, fainting, dizziness, shortness of breath, nausea, headaches, exercise intolerance and more. Some patients are so severely affected that they cannot walk and must stay in bed or have to use a wheelchair. Saline is a formula of sodium chloride, which is used in emergency 'flare ups' for people with this condition and also in rehydration of patients and to increase blood volume in acute hypovolemia (blood loss). Intravenous means that it is accessed through a vein. In the USA, saline is very commonly used for relief of the symptoms caused by PoTS. Various studies have been carried out across the world and have shown that intravenous Saline dramatically decreases symptoms in PoTS patients. A study carried out by Mohammed Ruzieh found that over 90% of the participants experienced significant improvement in symptoms. The average OHO score dropped in half (from 6.6 to 3.1). Dizziness symptom scores dropped from 7.2 to 2.8, fatigue scores from 8.2 to 4.3, weakness from 6.3 to 3.4. The patients’ ability to stand for a long time and walk for a short or long time about doubled. Similarly, Burklow, in a 1999 study, found that giving adolescents saline allowed all of them to pass a 30 minute tilt table test without fainting. Patients in the USA who receive IV saline and those who have been lucky enough to receive it in the UK claim it has changed their life, has done more for them than any medication could and has allowed them to have a normal, happier life than before. Some patients who were wheelchair bound are now able to walk and even go out of the house. Please help those who suffer gain a better quality of life and even gain their lives back. So many people have been refused IV saline treatment, even though it is relatively cheap and studies have shown it is extremely more effective that medications such as midodrine and clonidine. The most effective micronutrient therapy used in illnesses similar to PoTS such as fibromyalgia and ME is the "Myers Cocktail". This is a drip made up of`; Vitamin C, Vitamin B1 (Thiamine-HCL), Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin-5-Phosphate), Vitamin B3 (Nicotinamide), Vitamin B5 (D-Panthenol), Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine-HCL), Vitamin B12 (Hydroxocobalamin), Magnesium Chloride and Folic Acid. The vitamin and nutrients as listed have many health benefits and improve symptoms significantly, especially exhaustion and fatigue which is a huge problem for PoTs patients. This is also a recommended alternative treatment for a wide range of conditions including cancer, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), asthma, fibromyalgia (widespread pain), chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, hepatitis, depression, Parkinson’s disease and macular degeneration. The Rothfield Center (2014) stated: “By directly administering nutrients to the body higher than normal blood levels can be achieved. These increased levels can provide an immediate therapeutic response by correcting deficiencies that may arise from a disease state.”

I will be eternally grateful if you could please sign this petition and help so many sufferers receive the treatment that they need. Thank you.

Edit: After more research, I believe that studies should be carried out and the use of: IV Hydrogen Peroxide; choline supplements; ozone and oxygen therapy and IV immunoglobulin should be considered for treatment and relief of symptoms in PoTs and other chronic health conditions.
