Why this petition matters

Started by Liam Collum

Lots of women lose their hair due to alopecia, chemo and other health related issues.

Currently the NHS provide a voucher to these women to get a free wig, however most women are only given the option of a synthetic wig.

These women do not choose to lose their hair, but they should be given a choice of what they wear on their head when they do.

Synthetic wigs last about 6 months and the NHS currently pay for two a year, this petition aims to give women the choice to have 1 human hair wig each year instead which would also save the NHS money.

As a wig specialist, I deal with these problems day in and day out, of women feeling downtrodden and self conscious about what they are being forced to put on their heads, whilst going through what for some is the most difficult time in their lives.

Let's give these women the chance to feel fabulous in a difficult time rather than conscious about how they look.
