Why this petition matters

Started by Carla Thompson

We are petitioning to promote change for the way the NHS currently support patients with Alzheimer's and Dementia.

We feel that all patients should be treated equally and all receive free medication, care and support through our NHS care service.

Currently, if you aren't an elderly patient or claim benefits, you have to pay for all medication. No additional funding or support is given, which further impacts on patients emotional well-being.

The amount of care services offered are also not enough, leaving families to deal with this themselves, not having all of the information and support they need to try and manage this life changing disease.

Alzheimer's and Dementia not only affect the person dealing with the disease, but also their families and friends around them. Therefore, there should be more support and care offered to help the huge amount of people coping with the disease, or caring for their loved ones.

Unfortunately, there isn't currently a cure for Dementia, but we hope that with further support, awareness and fundraising through the NHS, this will help improve the chances of eventually finding a cure for this disease in the future.

Please sign this petition to help us get this to Parliament and hopefully push for change for the care and support for Dementia patients.
