Let's Change Super Bowl Sunday to Super Bowl Saturday!
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
So many of us are football fans! More than 200 million people watch football during the season and at least 111 million people just watched the Super Bowl. That's a lot of people watching the game. In fact, it's a great time for friends and family to gather together for some football fun!
So, why is this game on a Sunday night? Most of us have to get up early the next day to go to work or school.
- Teachers have to teach the next day
- Students have to study and learn
- Business people have to travel and hop on planes early
- Workers everywhere are supposed to get to work on time
So, why does this matter? We are tired after a late night. People call in sick or show up late to work or school. It is estimated that the loss of productivity costs over One Billion dollars. That's a lot of money. In fact, upon doing this petition, I also realized there is a petition to make the Monday after a national holiday. I would be OK with either, but I am not sure if the holiday would pass. You can check out the article here: http://wtop.com/sports/2017/02/super-bowl-take-1-billion-bite-worker-productivity/
If we had the Super Bowl on a Saturday instead of a Sunday, I really don't think the NFL would lose any advertising money. In fact they may gain some because it's a better day for the majority of us to stay up late and have fun with friends and family.
We love watching the game! Now just make it easier for all of us to rest the next day without worrying about having to go to bed early and miss the game (which we generally don't do - i.e. the reason we are tired).
Let's have Super Bowl Saturday start next year!
If you agree, please share with your friends and family and get them to sign!!
