Jacksonville Jaguars: Stop playing home games in London
Why this petition matters
The City of Jacksonville, FL is home to the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Franchise. However, it’s owner, Shad Kahn does not seem to want to stay in Jacksonville any longer. Recently it was announced that the Jaguars would be playing two back-to- back home football games in London. As a fan of the team for several years now and a proud resident of Jacksonville, this highly upsets me.
I understand that there is demand for a London NFL franchise, but sharing a team with another team is not the way to do it. The Jacksonville Jaguars currently have a steady fan base despite our constantly losing team, but in 2018 when the Jaguars reached the AFC Championship game, the games starting selling out. My point is, Jacksonville has demand for an NFL team, but instead of working on improving the on-field experience, Mr Kahn is more concerned about making unnecessary upgrades to the stadium and selling games in London instead. It’s worth noting that after the Jaguars rough season, Kahn chose not to address several key issues with the team’s leadership, angering fans and possibly making it easier to move to London fully.
in conclusion, today I ask you to sign because we, the citizens of Jacksonville, FL want our football team to stay here, and we want to be able to attend all 8 home games, not just the ones we don’t share with London.
