Lindsey Corthell started this petition to NFL

During 2020 SuperBowl’s halftime, there was a person named Christine Sun Kim who was using America Sign Language (ASL) to sign the National Anthem along with Demi Lovato singing. What happened was that they barely filmed the signer throughout the entire song, neglecting the beauty of sign language by filming the rest of the stage and the players as well.

News flash, this isn’t the first time this has happened. In fact, it happens nearly every year at the SuperBowl . NFL always find someone who signs for the song but the signer are rarely recognized because they didn’t get the opportunity to be filmed. What’s offensive is that the signer worked so hard by practicing over and over again,  rehearsing the same songs for days or weeks, for all what we know. Just so the world could see and cherish the beautiful ASL.  I think they deserve the credits and the appreciation for their hard work. The ignorance needs to be stopped, this needs a change somehow someway. It has to start now, no more sweeping it under the rug and leave it till until next year.

I am asking to start a petition by asking NFL and their tv broadcast to start putting the “bubble” screen at the corner, directly airing the signer throughout the entire song for the deaf audience to enjoy back at home during the superbowl game.
