I love being Canadian.  What if, like so many other Canadians, hockey isn't your ABSOLUTE FAVORITE sport? We have a football league, and we don't want to take anything away from the CFL, but Edmonton needs something else.  Alberta is, was, and will most likely always be the heart and soul of the Canadian economy, but there's just nothing to do. 

During the winter games, Edmonton was quite fittingly nicknamed "Deadmonton".  We are a blue collar city.  We are growing.  But we are boring.  We've just built one of the nicest arenas in Canada, and although it's not as big, and doesn't have the capacity as some of the current NFL stadiums, attendance will be 100% for EACH AND EVERY GAME.

Our city has, and will always depend on oil, but what happens when the wells run dry? We need economic diversity, and the only way this can happen is to attract people.  CFL doesn't do it.  In fact, more Canadians prefer NFL football to CFL.  NHL helps, but we need more.  Let's diversify... In the name of all that is good, let's diversify.

I'm a die-hard NFL fan, and so are the people of Texas.  Alberta is known as the "Texas of Canada", so why don't we take a page out of their book?  Texas has one of, if not THE strongest economy in the USA.  Let's put Edmonton on the map.  Let's make our city fun for ourselves, our children, and let's make our economy thrive.
