Get Caerleon public toilets re-opened

As of Friday 23rd March 2018, Newport City Council permanently closed the public toilets in Caerleon.
This, as many people I have spoken to have agreed, is not a positive move for the local people or indeed the many tourists that visit Caerleon, attracted by its Roman history, heritage trails and natural beauty. There are regularly coach loads of school children that visit Caerleon, and whilst the response of the council is that people can use the toilets in the town hall or the local pubs, is it really appropriate to drag hoards of children into a pub to use the toilet?...I don’t think so. And the town hall isn’t readily available for use all the time.
These toilets are a necessity in the village in everyday life for the locals and visitors but also they are hugely important when there are events on which are attracting many more visitors to Caerleon. Just this last weekend, during the May fair, people went to use the toilets and when they discovered them closed, simply urinated behind the toilet building!. This is not an image we want to portray as acceptable in our village surely?!.
Please support this petition and let us show Newport City Council how strongly people feel about this and how valuable these toilets are and appeal to get them opened again.
Thanks for your time taken in reading this.
