Active Learning should be directed towards the junior school

Active learning (Wa Ako) has been complained about by many senior students in our school. This is because we think Active Learning could be an hour better spent with study work and/or classtime. I can fully understand the morals and mentoring that this activity is trying to teach us although, in senior years, we become more focussed towards achieving NCEA levels at the best of our ability and ensuring our University entrance. The juniors, however, are still starting out college life and need help discovering more about their peers and understanding that their mentality is the limit to what you can achieve. Determination and positive thinking is all one needs in being able to accomplish college life.

I am not trying to state that we should be selfish and only learn what we want to learn, but instead, on behalf of the seniors, that active learning is more beneficial towards the junior students.

Do you agree?
