I study Physics at Newcastle University and have a timetable of 135 days of study per year (not including days which have scheduled exams). This means that each day attending university costs £68.51 per student. University fees are currently £9, 250 per academic year.

Currently our lecturers are on strike regarding issues with their pension and during this time there is a huge disruption to our study. As lecturers are on an unpaid strike, I feel it is only fair that we have 12 days deducted from our university debt. This equates to £822 per student during the strike. Those who have paid without student finance should be compensated £822. We have been told by numerous lecturers that they are purposely disrupting our study to make a point and could potentially continue the strike for even longer.

Please sign this petition and share it amongst Newcastle University and durham University students who are impacted by this strike. If we are forced to forfeit our education then we need to be re-inbursed.
