Save Bedford Road Green From Development
Save Bedford Road Green From Development

There is an area known locally as the 'Bedford Road Green' which is located upon the Galleys Bank Estate in Kidsgrove. The Bedford Road green is extensively used as a children's play area. In fact, Bedford Road green has been used as a much-loved children's play area since the houses were first built approximately 72 years ago. This green is used on a daily basis for the children to enjoy playing cricket, junior football, winter sports and numerous other children's activities. This area is the only children's play area upon the Galleys Bank Estate as the previous playing area, situated in Gloucester Road was closed down by the previous administration and sadly, was not replaced.
We feel, that it is truly shameful to deprive our children and their friends of their outdoor activities which contribute to their health, happiness, well-being and future development. It is heartwarming to watch and listen to the children play in a safe environment, surrounded by their friends and loved one's. We, therefore, respectfully request that the Planning Department, see fit, and refuse application number, 20/00540/OUT to build eight town houses on the Bedford Road, children's play area in Kidsgrove.
