Traffic calming measures in the estate including Rothbury Ave and Weldon Way

Currently motorists are using the estate between Wansbeck Road and Regent Farm Road as a shortcut to go to one from the other avoiding traffic and speed bumps.
The lack of calming measures has lead to the death of my cat who was ran over and left for dead on Weldon Way on the 31st October 2021. The entire estate is on a 20mph speed limit however this is clearly not being adhered to as motorists speed through our streets to beat traffic.
I would like to see the introduction of more speed bumps, especially on Weldon Way and Rothbury avenue in order to discourage speeding and cutting through.
There are quite a few children living in our estate including my own and they deserve to be able to walk around their estate without fear of being knocked over by speeding careless drivers.
We need to put this to them so that they have a responsibility to protect the children in this neighbourhood as the traffic chaos they've allowed to occur in Gosforth is partly to blame for people cutting through our residential streets!
