Reduce unsafe driving on Edgewater in the Newark Lake Area

As residents of the Newark Lake Neighborhood, we are concerned about the unsafe driving (speeding) frequently observed on Edgewater. It's not uncommon to see vehicles traveling at 50MPH+. There have been numerous accidents over the years and it's not safe for residents and especially children in the area. As Newark is growing, more traffic is being routed via apps like Waze through residential neighborhoods which have exacerbated the issue. Today, between Lake Boulevard and Cedar, there are no stop signs, speed bumps, or other mechanisms to discourage speeding. Despite attempts to study traffic with speed monitoring signage and occasional police presence, speeding remains a major issue. We are asking the City of Newark to take action towards resolving this issue.
