Dear Jacinda Ardern

You had every opportunity to protect New Zealanders from the stabbing in Auckland today.

You have known since 2016 (pre the Christchurch terror attack) that this man was a threat to New Zealand and its people.

You failed when he was placed on a list not to deport him.

You failed when you swiftly changed the laws (as you seem to do so undemocratically and regularly without the input of the people who put you in power) to not include ability to deport unsavory human beings. If this was australia he would have been on the first plane home in 2016.

You and your government have failed to protect kiwis. The police constable you put on the press conference today cannot be satisfied they've done all they can do because the reports he refers to are minutes old and one sided.

You wasted hundreds of thousands on this person having him under 24/7 surveillance since 2016 when he should have been deported. You failed to protect kiwis.

You've achieved nothing whilst in power that you campaigned on either time. House prices have sky rocketed and many kiwis have gone homeless. You've pushed through bills and changed laws without referendum and when you didn't campaign on those changes they are fundamentally undemocratic.

You failed to protect the people from gangs and gang violence which has grown exponentially under your government and rather than take action you chose to fund them millions of dollars instead.

It's time the horse was put out to pasture.
