PETITION: National - Axe all your own Fuel Taxes of over 34 cents a litre.

New Zealanders: Please sign the petition calling for the National Government to remove all its own Fuel Taxes of over 34 cents a litre. 

The last Fuel excise rise 3.5% was almost 2 years ago. All money raised is either spent or planned to be spent to fund billions of land transport planning, road safety, rapid rail, to encourage public transport And alternative energy and and the use of Eco cars. That’s working, They have vastly  increased in usage. NATIONAL  hasn’t heard of global warming.  Tax is the price we all pay to live in a civilised, ecologically safe society. It’s time John Key and Luxon who demand all the benefits of a civilised society, stopped whining & obsessing.

National Governments have imposed 34.51 cents a litre of fuel taxes. Now Luxon is shouting he's as purest as snow - he's not. National’s attacks on Labour over tax are pure hypocrisy and spin.

What increased Fuel was the average OECD inflation rate increased 5.8 % . The reopening of New Zealand’s border increased demand for fuel, with more flights, the return of tourism, and an increase in commuting.  

National is always shortsighted. Handing out tax cuts for John Keys mates (Luxon) at the expense of Health, Education and Economic support  that were slashed dramatically in 2010 when National were in power and has never recovered since.

Nationals systematic under funding of the health and Education system by billions of dollars can be seen as a tax paid in human misery. Similarly with selling State Assets like State Houses at the time of a Housing Crisis. But these taxes don’t appear as accounting items on spreadsheets, so it is very easy For National to pretend that they don’t exist.     

Many of Nationals taxes only applied to poor people (raising GST) or even prevent poor people getting the services that they need (raised prescription charges by 67%).  

National is always shortsighted.  Labour always has to clean up the mess National has made with Health and education and economic support.  At the End of the Day National in One single stroke of a Pen doomed the future of New Zealand.

9. Can National cut its other Tax increases ? before it starts criticising others ??

Pre-Election John Key looked at the cameras point blank and smiled “I will not raise GST”. After the election he raised it to 15% (including fuel).
