The law Needs change. So Funeral Homes are accountable for their actions when things go wrong. In New Zealand there is no legislation that requires Funeral Homes to be regulated by FDANZ,therefor anyone can start a funeral home and only needs council consent for the premises.I Believe at least one person in every funeral home needs to be registered with this organization so there is accountability, and it rids the industry of incompetent people dealing with our deceased loved ones. These are people we should be able to trust with our loved ones.My recent experience when my beloved 24 year old daughter passed away suddenly has been no more than a nightmare, watching your childs body decay in front of your eyes has left a lasting effect that i will never forget. Paying for the services of a funeral home to arrange and look after your loved one and arrange funeral services should never be the ordeal we have had to experience at the most vulnerable time in our lives.PLEASE lets save someone else from having to go through this traumatic ordeal.
