New Zealand has been on Level 4 Lockdown for a week, which looks like to last for at least a few more weeks. In this Covid-19 global pandemic, every New Zealander has been impacted. Like many other countries, we are faced with two critical challenges: medical and economical. While the medical experts will take care of the former, we need economics experts for the latter as well. The prosperity of our country depends squarely on both aspects being in great shape when we sail through these unprecedented times and uncharted waters.

The whole New Zealand economy are on pause right now. And it appears that almost no one knows what the "un-pause" would look like, as there is no reference ever in our history. One thing is for certain thought, which is that it'd be much harder than pushing the "Pause" button. It will require Clear Vision, Thorough Plan and Precise Execution. This means that we need the best and most experienced thinktank New Zealand possess. While I'm not sure who should be included in this elite group of minds, I do know that Sir John Key is the best person to chair this group.

In both economics and politics, Sir John Key had demonstrated vast experience and proven track records. He had led New Zealand through the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) and Christchurch and Kaikoura earthquakes, and left New Zealand "in better shape than he had found it in". His leadership had ensured that New Zealand was the envy of the world with a "Rock Star Economy" for the past decade.

Clearly he had been thinking about these aspects and impacts. At these difficult and uncertain times, we need to "park politics at the door" and focus on the New Zealand people. No one is better than Sir John Key to take up that crucial role!

How do we get back to the "new normal" after this Covid-19 pandemic represents huge challenges to every New Zealander, regardless of their race, colour, gender, age or political affiliation. While the medical aspect may not impact on you personally, the economic certainly does and will.

This petition is to set up NZ Covid-19 Economic Recovery Taskforce as soon as possible and Appoint Sir John Key as the Chairperson. The time we have is very limited, and we cannot afford not to move on this. We need to move on it NOW if we want to un-pause and re-ignite New Zealand Economy and roaring to go when the time comes!
