When Australia began opening their borders late last year they had an entry program for the non- Australian parents of Australian citizens or permanent residents so that non citizen Grandparents living overseas could be reunited with their grandkids sooner. New Zealand has no allowances for non citizen overseas Grandparents to gain entry until later in the year- after working holiday visas and international students open! We are asking for a little compassion from this government and recognition that the economy is important but so is reuniting families that have long been apart! New Zealand has many partial expat families who would love to be included in the governments consideration.
