Matthew Ball started this petition to New Zealand Government

In the 2018 Census, 2,264,601 people in the NZ census usually resident population count reported they had no religion.

Almost half the country does not believe in religion, yet we are forced to observe Easter closures.

As a multicultural and progressive country, it is unacceptable that the New Zealand government forces individuals and business to adhere to religous practises that they do not believe in.

This is a breach of our basic human rights.

Please note, this is not asking to remove religous holidays. We are asking to remove the legislation that forces religion at the cost of our rights.
