Government review of outdoor EVENTS limit

0 have signed. Let’s get to 5,000!

On Thursday 7th May, the NZ Government reduced the number of people allowed at outdoor events in level 2 from 500 to 100.

They have failed to differentiate 'social gatherings' and professionally organized EVENTS, meaning a 500 person party on someone's lawn is classified as the same as a professionally run event where the policies and procedures around contact tracing and health and safety of participants can be robust.

This lacks common sense, especially with the other things that are going ahead at level two. It also completely disrespects the events industry and the thousands of people that feed into this sector.

It will lead to the unnecessary loss of thousands of more jobs of very good people.

We need this decision to be reviewed and have the New Zealand Events Association to be consulted with and guidelines drawn up so that professionally run events of up to 500 people can take place at level 2.
