This year's MLB season will be unlike any other due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to the shorter Major League season, the Minor League season has been cancelled altogether. This is obviously sad for the organizations, players and fans, but it has affected another member of the baseball world.

Rookie is the beloved bat fetching dog for the Yankees' Minor League affiliate, the Trenton Thunder. Rookie is a third generation bat dog for the Yankee family, having been preceded by other beloved bat dogs, Chase and Derby. With the cancellation of the Minor League season, Rookie will not get to fetch bats this year. With all the negative news going around these days, the fans will definitely be happy to see baseball on their TVs in just a few short weeks and we believe that it would brighten the days of baseball fans everywhere if they got to see Rookie doing what he does best. Joyously fetching bats, only this time in the Bronx on a grand stage.

Rookie is a member of the Yankee family and would add some cheer to a very abnormal baseball season. He is also a very, very good boy!
