Make GPS a Pass/Fail Course

Considering the unfair nature of the grading system (the difference between one teaching fellow's grading criterias and another's), the forced nature of the class, and the irregular teaching (recitation) methods we believe that Global Perspectives on Society should be a pass/fail course. This way the differing methods of teaching and grading will not affect our overall performance nor will it lower our GPA's.
We also strongly believe that it is a student's right to choose and organize their schedule. The liberty to change classes and sections should, as it does to other courses, apply to GPS recitation sections.
But most importantly, the cluttered departmental bureaucracy that eliminates our chance to reflect and provide feedback should be replaced with an honest and effective communication channel between the students and the professors.
