New York State Please Pass Ally's Law: The Restroom Access Act
Crohn's Disease and Colitis patients need access to otherwise inaccessible restrooms like "employee only" restrooms in retail stores that will deny public use. Ally's Law was started in Illinois by a young girl named Ally Bain and has since passed in 13 states: Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin and Washington. This law grants IBD patients medical emergency access to restrooms when needed. There are many symptoms that may cause need for a sufferer to require a restroom. I myself have had such severe pain it has caused vomiting. I recently had another Crohns related issue that caused hemorrhaging which would happen with no forewarning, not too far after requiring surgery. Patients need this access to restrooms as others need handicap parking. It is MEDICALLY NECESSARY and such a simple request! Please sign this petition in support of Crohns and Colitis patients everywhere! Thank you for your support!!!
