End the New York State lockdown and suspend the Governor's emergency management authority

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo's power and legal authority needs to be balanced, there is no "check" in place to prevent his gross overreach during this "emergency."  The mandated closures and restrictions under executive order 202  have gone on for far too long are far too restrictive and are cause real damage to our lives and livelihoods. Some of the regulations are arbitrary in nature and target specific industries and/or social activities while allowing similar behavior to occur in other industries and/or social activities; for example social gatherings are limited to 50 attendees with no consideration for physical size or capacity of the space, however a restaurant can have 50% capacity with no specific limit on actual number of guests.  East end farms, protests and parks have no capacity limit but religious services and catered events, both indoor and outdoor are required to abide by capacity limits, again with no consideration to the size or location of the space. These targeted restrictions violate the 14th amendment of the Constitution: "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."   

Section 29A of New York State's executive law gives far too much power to one person.  Governor Cuomo can continue to suspend due process, create rules and laws with no input from the people of New York or their elected representatives. Governor Cuomo can, and has, acted with impunity.  His authority to act needs to be balanced and checked by appropriate legislative process.
