The COVID-19 pandemic throughout 2020 and 2021 created serious difficulties for students, especially for High School seniors. 

Seniors of 2021 lost a number of opportunities, including social and educational opportunities such as intern and externships. They also lost athletic opportunities, because, for some sports, the seasons were canceled.

As one of those students, I find this completely unacceptable! This year, graduation should be a choice for all seniors. This was our final year and we lost the benefit of a real education. 

I'm not the only one however, there are many students who feel the same way as I do, and if that's the case I refuse to just stand by and accept this. I want to have a final year that’s normal. I'm positive that others feel the same and I want them to have it too.

There have been bills proposed in several states to allow students to repeat the school year they were in during the pandemic. These states are Ohio, West Virginia, and Washington state. Bills of the same purpose have already been passed in Kentucky and Pennsylvania. What's more, a chance to repeat the year will give students who aren't quite ready for college more time to prepare.

We deserve to have a second chance, so we can have a normal final high school year!
