I support a NY State funding allocation to the Town of Greenburgh for the design and construction of a sidewalk along West Hartsdale Avenue extending from the intersection of Pat Capone Road to the intersection of Central Park Avenue.

A sidewalk in this location would enhance the quality of life for so many residents, as this State road is a major thoroughfare in the Town connecting to numerous side-streets and neighborhoods. Every day, residents, including school-aged children walk in the shoulder of the road, which is very unsafe. The installation of a sidewalk in this span (which is now over a mile with no sidewalks) would be used by residents for leisure, exercise, and as an alternative to making every little trip in a vehicle.

I strongly urge the State to allocate the funding necessary for this major pedestrian safety project.
