We who have signed on to this petition are urging the passage of the School Suicide Prevention Act (S82/A4763) which will provide:

-Prevention! This will include specific actions schools can take to recognize and reduce suicidal behaviors by identifying risks and protective factors for suicide and suicide warning signs.

-Educate and provide tools to teachers and other school employees in order for them to respond correctly to a mental health crisis.

-Provide support for affected students and school-based personnel, which will allow schools to address the social stigma associated with suicide.

-Lower and eliminate student's thoughts and actions towards suicide.
