After witnessing on video, the death of a 15-year-old Lesandro Guzman-Felix “Junior” on June 20th. It has broken the hearts of all New Yorkers and the entire world to see what kind of society we have become. Because of that barbaric act the society witness, we need New York legislators to approve a “Duty to Act Law” and call it "Lesandro Law". Some states like Vermont and Minnesota already have similar laws.
The Lesandro Law should state that a person who knows that another is exposed to physical harm, or has suffered grave physical harm should provide reasonable assistance as calling 911 for police or medical personnel, and failure to do so the person should be liable for failure to act and be charged with “accessory after the fact”.
