Emre Kusmin started this petition to New York Road Runners
This new age policy puts a hold on all young runners from running the races that they've been training for and waiting for. The policy has been changed from 12 to 16. I am a 13-year-old who ran the Ted Corbit 15k and was training for the Popular Brooklyn Half for months. Recently I learned that the age policy changed and that I could no longer run the race for 3 years, and couldn't even do the 15k again for 3 years. Hundreds of teens age 13-15 have run previous half marathons and now have to wait multiple years. If teens and their parents think that they are ready for a longer race and have trained for it, they should have the right to run it. If you are a determined runner who wants to be able to continue their training, please sign.
