As of December 31st, 2021, the Governor of NYS Kathy Hochul, has required all SUNY and CUNY students to be vaccinated upon return for the Spring of 2022 semester. Not only is this an invasion of students personal rights, but does not allow much time for students to get boosted. Not to mention, the adverse reactions some may have as a result of the booster that must be overcome in time for the upcoming semester. 

On top of the new booster requirements, students are still required to wear masks across SUNY and CUNY campuses. Masks, along with the existing vaccine requirement and social distancing, are efficient means of slowing the spread. 

Asking students to choose between a booster and their education is added stress in a time that is already hard on everyone. 

I have created this petition to give students a voice. Whether you are boosted, getting boosted or prefer not to be boosted, this petition aims to protect students rights to choose.
