Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Korey Wise, Yusef Salaam, and Raymond Santana were wrongfully convicted of the rape and beating of a jogger in Central Park. The "Central Park Five" are suing on the grounds of "malicious prosecution, racial discrimination, and emotional distress." Collectively these gentlemen spent over 30 years in prison. Their convictions were overturned in 2003 when Matias Reyes confessed to being the sole attacker of the jogger along with DNA evidence collected in 1989 which substantiated his involvement. It has been 10 years since their conviction has been overturned and New York City is refusing to honor the Federal Civil Rights Suit that was filed in 2003.
