Mount Sinai Security NYC Mayoral Petition for Aid

Mount Sinai Security NYC Mayoral Petition for Aid
Why this petition matters
Mr. Mayor, thank you for your recent support by pledging $111MM to support NYC Hospitals. We the Brotherhood of Amalgamated Trades Union are starting this petitioning on behalf of the Hospital Security officers at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai St. Luke's to request that some of this money be distributed to the Security Officers at these locations.
Throughout the entire pandemic, the Hospital Administration has yet to compensate with hazard pay or otherwise the Security Officers at these locations, not a dime. Furthermore, the Officers have been embattled in a Union negotiation that has been continually stalled by the Hospital Administration. The Hospital made dramatic changes to the Security Officers Health Care plans and contributions increasing the cost to the Security Guards from $0 to in some cases $800 per month.
We the Security Guards at Mount Sinai West, and St Luke's request the Mayor's help in ensuring that a portion of the newly allocated funding is distributed to Mount Sinai Hospital Security Officers at Mount Sinai West, and St Luke's. We also request that the Mayor encourage the Hospital Administration to continue negotiations immediately so that we can work to reconcile the undue burden of healthcare costs on these selfless and tireless Security Officers.
Please consider that the front line starts at the Front Door, and that is where these Security Officers often sit.
