Enough is enough.

As positive COVID cases continue to grow in NYC classrooms with descending attendance rates, affecting our most vulnerable communities in the city, it is time to act NOW before we no longer have control over the statistics.

On behalf of NYC public high school students and teachers, as well as NYC council members and State Senators, we are urging NYC Mayor Eric Adams and NYC Schools Chancellor David Blake to consider a Remote Option for the vast majority of families who do not feel safe attending school given the effects of the Omicron variant. In a time of a public health crisis, families deserve the choice of evaluating whether it's better for their child to stay in school or conduct remote learning.
