My name is Charlie Pepper and I am a 14 year old skater. I am starting a petition to show support and to prove that there is a genuine local need for an improved skatepark in Gullane, East Lothian. After I hurt myself recently on the crumbling concrete around the drain in the skate bowl, I decided to start this because I believe Gullane needs better skate facilities. 
 
Skateparks are proven to increase health, well-being, community cohesion whilst reducing social exclusion and anti-social behaviour. The skatepark will not only benefit skatepark users, it will enhance the Village and be an asset to the whole community.

I have created this petition for a new skatepark which will be a free-to-use, safe, inclusive and family orientated sports facility for users of all ages. Professionally designed and constructed by a company with design input from local skatepark users. The current concrete bowl that exists in Gullane is becoming unsafe as it is starting to show signs of serious wear ie concrete crumbling around the drain cover.
