As many more people are traveling on the bike path it has been made clear that there is a need for Quarry Road to be extended for a bike lane. Building onto the road would be beneficial to so many people in this area, support the college students, and help our environment. 

Living on Quarry road we see many people biking, running, walking, to the bike path everyday. There has already been a death because of a hit and run accident and change needs to happen now before more lives are taken. The college students use Quarry Road to loop around for their cross country practice. Having this path would also encourage our community to be healthier with safe access to the North Coast Inland Trail. Personally I would benefit as a mother of two children who lives a little over a mile down the road from a trail entrance, but feel it is dangerous to walk or bike to the trail from my home. I imagine a day when my neighbors and I can safely walk and bike down the road to the NCIT without fear of being stuck by a vehicle. That I know of one life was already taken from this busy road (one too many), let’s take the action needed to save lives and make our neighbors happier and healthier by enabling them to get out to the bike trail safely!
