Jada L started this petition to New Orleans Saints and

Everyone loves the New Orleans Saints. Have you ever wondered what their symbol means? The fleur De Lis, a symbol of royalty , from the country of France. A symbol of hope and light to some, a symbol of pain and tragedy to another. New Orleans believes it to be a symbol of unity, but that is not the case for the descendants of the enslaved.

The Fleur De Lis, a mark of supremacy, was used for years to mark the backs of slaves as punishment if they tried to escape. If they tried to escape the torture and chains that held them captive for years and years.

The solution? Removing the symbol from the helmets of not only African Americans, but every player. Removing it not only from the team, but New Orleans. And let's take it a step further, and address why it's on every boy scout in America. Take it off the children, take it out the country, get it out of our world.

To those that would argue the effect of it in this time...if they put a swastika on a jersey and called it good would you? Not on my back. And maybe, no one cares, But I do. As a young African American, I find it offensive to my people. To have to be reminded of something so saddening and sick. THIS STOPS WITH MY GENERATION. Please, if you have an ounce of love and sincerity within you, sign this petition. Make a change, be the difference.
