We would like to keep the Virtual School days in New Milford at the current length, running a half-day schedule. There is no need for students to be forced to be online longer than usual. This also hasn't been issue since we started online learning on March 16, 2020 so there is no reason or logic behind this decision to extend the day by an additional 2.5 hours. It would be restricting students' free time and causing them to look at a screen more which is VERY unhealthy. If this is some desperate attempt at making up for the loss of in-person learning, it is a poorly-executed by the board of education. They have taken away the class of 2021's Senior year, they have forced all students to sign onto google meets at 8:00 in the morning, they have punished us for not having our cameras on during the zoom calls, and now they expect us to go online for almost 8 hours a day.
