Our friend, Leroy Garcia, from Farmington, New Mexico, was a prison guard, with no police record of any kind, when a female prisoner seduced him into her cell with a plan to sue the state for a lot of money.  She was successful and made a lot of money with her law suit.  He played the fool and fell for her trap and was sentenced to about 8 years in state prisons.  He was labeled a sex offender, although he had never harmed a single child or and other adult.  His sentence was fulfilled by mid-summer of 2019.

However, the parole board of his home town or district had set strict rules.  He couldn't return to the home his wife had purchased while he was in prison because of parole board restrictions for all sex offenders, regardless of their personal situation.  He was offered about seven other homes by friends, but none of them qualified.  The prison system was in no hurry as they received a certain amount of government money per prisoner.  Releasing prisoners reduces their revenue.  Leroy has been a model prisoner, developing his relationship with God and helping many younger prisoners.  We visited him several times in our travels and hear from him frequently by phone.  He has a very positive attitude, but we are very upset that he is not home with his family.

Leroy has reported that he is not the only one in his situation.  There are many others.  This is injustice and the laws need to change or the state needs to get sued for depravation of human rights.
