Albuquerque, New Mexico, and many cities within the state is home to men and women who have been accused of sexually abusing our youth. My daughter was a victim of an assault lasting from age 12-13 and once it became aware to me, I called 911. Officers dispatched refused to speak with my daughter stating that there was not enough evidence and also deleted the text app my daughter and the offender had been corresponding on. Weeks later after the offender confessed to the assaults on facebook live, I called 911 again only to learn the case had been handed over and the officers chose to take the word of the offender prior to his confession. New Mexico is home to some of the most brutal acts of violence towards youth. Just recently an offender was released on his own with an I-Bond after assaulting a 6-year-old. He was held fo a little over 24 hours. In regards to my child, after 2 months her case is being prepped for theDistrict Attorney. DNA is no longer available and this predator is still roaming the streets. He was actually free to walk into a police station to file a report stating I attacked him once the truth had come out. My daughter now lives in fear and has relocated to a safer environment, however, he has other victims younger than my daughter. We the parents of juvenile survivors of sexual assault need justice.
