Take Down the Madrid Train Bombing Ads

Take Down the Madrid Train Bombing Ads

The Issue

New Jersey Transit's latest public service advertisement, found on their trains and in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, use photos of the March 11, 2004 Madrid train bombing. The photo used shows bodies covered with sheets in the wreckage of a bombed out train. Not only is this terror-mongering ineffective, it's insensitive.

If another country were to use photos of a terror attack in America - for any type of ad - we would be offended. We should show the same level of respect to those who lost their lives in the terrorist bombings in Madrid.
