After years of not being able to locate a father/mother for child support, the courts decided by recommendation through the probation office to close the case.  Unfortunately, after years of nothing another territory contacted and located the parent not knowing NJ closed the case.  Some funds were distributed by that territory to NJ yet the receiving parent received nothing for 2x years.  After paying a location service, parent was located taken to court to request case to be reopened and now hoping to recoup $125,000 in arrears.  Do you feel like the courts failed you with the lack of inquiries done by the Probation office.

Although the Department of Child services have the access to many systems and alternative, they were not used to locate the parent.

I would like to have a voice for the many parents/grandparents that need the assistance of the courts/probation department to do their work diligently and provide the services that tax payers pay to have throughout the state.

This change is to enforce and keep accountability.  The process must be better for those working hard to educate, care and provide a safe environment for all our children.
